Client care
Caring for your jewellery
Fine jewellery is durable, not invincible. A little routine keeps a piece looking as it did on the day it left the bench.
Daily habits
Jewellery on last, off first. Perfume, hairspray, hand cream and chlorine dull a polish faster than wear does. Remove rings for the gym, gardening and washing up.
Cleaning at home
Warm water, a drop of unscented washing-up liquid and a soft baby toothbrush behind the stones. Rinse, then dry on a lint-free cloth. Never use ultrasonic cleaners on emeralds, opals, pearls or any treated stone.
By material
- Platinum
- Develops a soft patina; polish annually if you prefer a bright finish
- 18k gold
- Wipe after wear; avoid chlorine and abrasive cloths
- Sterling silver
- Store airtight to slow tarnish; polish with a rouge cloth
- Pearls & opals
- Wipe with a damp cloth only, never soak
Annual check
Bring any set piece back once a year. We check claws, tighten stones, re-polish and re-plate at no charge — the same service, for as long as you own it.
